Handy Guide to U-Cut Tree Farms in the Valley

Cutting your own Christmas tree is a festive family tradition and a great way to support local farmers. The Snoqualmie Valley has many Christmas tree farms, from Duvall to North Bend. Use our guide to find the one that’s best for you.

 

Tips:

  • Saws are provided, don’t bring chainsaws
  • Most farms do not allow you to bring pets, see below for exceptions
  • Trees can sell out so be sure to check before you go
  • Most tree farms will accept credit cards, but some will only take cash or check

Carnation Tree Farm

Description: The Carnation Tree Farm has been a cornerstone of the Carnation community for over 30 years. They offer a variety of u-cut trees, including Douglas, Fraser, Grand, Noble and Nordmann Firs, as well as the Norway and Blue Spruce. They also sell freshly harvested Noble firs. You can also purchase handmade wreaths from local greens, cedar garland, swags, fresh mistletoe, and holly. Enjoy old-fashioned homemade bake sale treats or sip complimentary cider in their covered shelter. You can also visit Santa and have your picture taken. Round out your time with a visit to their gift shop in their historic barn and peruse Christmas tree ornaments, tree stands, and unique gifts. Cedar Falls Christmas Tree Farm

Description: The Cedar Falls Christmas Tree Farm offers many different varieties of u-cut trees, including Noble, Turkish, Fraser, Grand, Douglas, Nordmann, and Alpine Firs, as well as Norway Spruce.  You can also explore their woodland, fish ponds, streams, their walking paths and trails. They even have a micro-hydro demonstration power plant where they produce their own electricity for the tree farm. You can also enjoy their warm outdoor fire with a view and complimentary hot cider and candy canes.

 

Christmas Creek Tree Farm

Description: Christmas Creek Tree Farm offers u-cut Noble, Douglas, Grand, and Nordmann Firs as well as fresh pre-cut trees. You can also purchase wreaths and garland. In addition to the trees, Christmas Creek also offers their Santa’s house, where you can warm up by the fire, purchase Georgia’s bakery goodies, and enjoy complimentary hot cider or coffee. With the purchase of a tree you can also visit with Santa for free, just remember to bring your camera. It’s best to get a “Santa number” when you first arrive, to be sure you don’t have to wait long. Christmas Creek also invites you to explore their trails, river, and farm fields.

Crown Christmas Tree Farm

Description: The Crown Christmas Tree Farm in North Bend offers a variety of U-cut trees, including Noble, Douglas, Grand, and Turkish Firs, as well as pre-cut Noble and Nordmann firs. They also sell holly, wreaths, cut greens, boughs, and cones. You can peruse their gift shop stocked with holiday gifts and ornament and enjoy complimentary coffee, hot cider, cookies, and candy canes.

 

Fall City Farms

Description: Fall City Farms is offers a variety u-cut trees including Grand, Noble, and Nordmann firs, with a select offering of Douglas and Fraser firs. Enjoy mini doughnuts and hot cider to keep your hands warm while you hunt for the perfect tree!

Description: The Keith and Scott Tree Farm sits along the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie and has two entrances in North Bend, one off the Mount Si Road and one off Thrasher Road. They grow Noble, Douglas, Grand, Fraser, and Turkish firs. The Thrasher Road entrance trees sell for a flat rate and the Mount Si entrance trees are taller and prices by the foot. Warm up around a covered bonfire, and enjoy a cup of hot cider. Dogs are welcome.

Description: The Mountain Creek Christmas Tree Farm is nestled up against Mount Si and grows a variety of tree species, including Douglas, Noble, Turkish, Grand, and Fraser Firs. Be sure to bring extra help for large trees.

 

Novelty Hill Farm

Description: Located between Carnation and Duvall, the Novelty Hill Farm offers five varieties of freshly cut Christmas trees, as well as free greens (with purchase) for wreaths and swags. You can also warm up in their cozy, historic barn with complimentary cookies and cocoa.

Description: Located between Carnation and Duvall, the Ronnei Christmas Tree Farm offers U-cut Douglas, Grand, and Noble Firs, as well as pre-cut Noble Firs. Snow Valley Christmas Tree Farm

Description: The Snow Valley Christmas Tree Farm, is a 100-acre farm located on the banks of the Snoqualmie River. Their 28,000 trees include Noble, Grand, Fraser, Turkish, and Nordmann Firs, as well as Norway spruce. They will have cider and cocoa waiting and will cut and haul your tree, if needed.

Description: The U.S. Forest Service sells Christmas tree permits each year so that you can hunt down your own tree on Forest Service land. Cutting areas are located within national forest lands. Maps and information about cutting areas are provided when you purchase your permit. Each permit costs $10 and will allow you to cut a tree up to 12 feet. Purchasing two permits for $20 will allow you to cut a tree up to 20 feet.  If you have a fourth grader in your household you are eligible for a free tree permit.
