As we close out this challenging year, you may be considering how your holidays will look. Cutting your own Christmas tree is a festive family tradition and a great way to support local farmers. The Snoqualmie Valley has many Christmas tree farms from Duvall to North Bend who are adapting to bring you a safe and enjoyable experience. Use our guide below as a starting point to pick the best option for you and start planning a fun day out of the house. Don’t forget to pack some hot cocoa and don your festive attire!

Description: The Carnation Tree Farm has been a cornerstone of the Carnation community for over 30 years. They offer a variety of u-cut trees, including Douglas, Fraser, Grand, Noble, and Nordmann Firs, as well as the Norway and Blue Spruce. You can also purchase handmade wreaths from local greens, cedar garland, and fresh mistletoe.

Description: The Cedar Falls Christmas Tree Farm offers many different varieties of u-cut trees, including Noble, Turkish, Fraser, Grand, Douglas, Nordmann, and Alpine Firs, as well as Norway Spruce. After selecting your tree, explore their woodland, fish ponds, streams, walking paths, and trails. They even have a micro-hydro demonstration power plant where they produce their own electricity for the tree farm. You can also enjoy a complimentary candy cane and their warm outdoor fire pit.

Description: The Keith and Scott Tree Farm sits along the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie and has two entrances in North Bend, one off the Mount Si Road and one off Thrasher Road. The Thrasher Road location grows Noble, Douglas, Grand, Fraser, and Turkish firs in a wide variety of sizes. The Mount Si Road location specializes in tall Turkish and Fraser Firs trees, some up to 30 feet tall. Warm up around a covered bonfire, and enjoy a cup of hot cider. Quiet, well-behaved dogs on-leash are welcome.

Description: The family-owned Mountain Creek Christmas Tree Farm nestles up against Mount Si and grows a variety of tree species, including Douglas, Noble, Turkish, Grand, and Fraser Firs. Be sure to bring extra help for larger trees. U-cut by appointment only this year.
Description: The U.S. Forest Service sells Christmas tree permits each year so that you can hunt down and cut your own tree on cutting areas designated on Forest Service land. This year permits are available online. Each permit costs $10 and will allow you to cut a tree up to 15 feet. If you have a fourth grader in your household, you are eligible for a free tree permit under the Every Kid Outdoors program that provides free access to National Parks and other Federal lands. Get your Every Kid Outdoors Pass here before applying for your Christmas tree permit.

Description: The Pickering family has owned and operated Novelty Hill Farm since 1884. Located between Carnation and Duvall, the Farm offers four varieties of freshly pre-cut Christmas trees. It also has wreaths, swags, garland, and Christmas decorations.

Description: Snoqualmie Valley Venturing Crew #115 was established in 1987 and is an inclusive co-ed program through the Boy Scouts of America for teens aged 14-20. Crew #115 has been selling Christmas trees since 1986 as the primary fundraiser for the organization. New for 2020, they will be offering an online order and no-contact delivery option. They offer Fraser, Grand, Nordmann, and Noble Firs. They also have wreaths, garland and their very own designed and manufactured tree stands.
