Become a Train Museum Docent!

Saturday, May 18, 2019, 9:30 am - 3:30 pm

Description

Become a Museum Docent with the Northwest Railway Museum and share how the railroad changed everything!

Docents are trained in historical interpretation and teaching methods, provided with a main theme and key points, and given information they can use to create and build fun and interesting tours. No previous experience or specific railroad background is necessary – just an interest in sharing the unique history of the area with Museum visitors.

Training consists of a 2 hour info session followed by an observation of our Grand Tour – a docent led train excursion including stops at the historic Snoqualmie Depot, Train Shed Exhibit Building and the Conservation and Restoration Center. Docents will be paired with a qualified Docent Mentor, who will help guide trainees towards completion of the training and successful qualification through one-on-one training sessions.

Please plan to bring or purchase lunch from a local restaurant during a one hour break from 11:30 to 12:30.
