Chicken Break Down Class with Falling River Meats

On Saturday, February 29th, from 10am – 12pm, join us for a class on how to break down a whole chicken!

Learn how to break down one of Carnation Farms’ birds from our local butcher, Darron Marzolf of Falling River Meats! Then take your prepared bird and some delicious recipes home to cook a stunning chicken dinner! Stop at the Farmstand for lunch after the workshop and get veggie inspiration to add to your own farm dinner creation.

Class Agenda:

  • Tour the Carnation Farms poultry processing unit.
  • Visit the brooder to see the new baby chicks.
  • Then it’s off to the classroom, where we will have a station set up for each participant to learn how to properly cut up your very own chicken, and take it home with you!

Please bring a stock pot or Tupperware container to take your chicken home in.

All other materials are provided including:

  • Cutting boards
  • Knives
  • Thawed chickens on ice (1 per guest)
  • Hand wash station
  • Gloves

The class costs $40 per person, which includes the certified organic, pasture-raised chicken you’ll be taking home! Tickets must be purchased ahead of time, and are available at https://carnationfarms.org/events/chicken-break-down-class/
