Planting on the Tolt River

October 6, 2018, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Nestled at the foothills of the Cascades, the confluence of the Snoqualmie and Tolt Rivers in the beautiful Snoqualmie Valley offers a gorgeous backdrop to this volunteer event. During the fall, along these rivers, passerbyers can observe spawning salmon in the rivers and eagles and ospreys soaring above. The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe has used this area to fish, hunt, and gather since long before explorers came to the Pacific Northwest.

Volunteers will help sustain restoration efforts led by the Snoqualmie Tribe, who have been working to restore traditional ecological knowledge by planting species used by the Snoqualmie people for harvests and medicines since time immemorial. During this event, volunteers will be planting these species and preparing this beautiful area for a continued sustainable future.
