SnoValley Tilth Potluck Talk

November 13, 2017, 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Description

SnoValley Tilth holds a monthly potluck talk the second Monday of the month. These meetings are free and open to the public and there is always time to network and socialize. These gatherings are a great opportunity to connect with your local food growers and food eaters.

The November potluck with feature a talk about King County’s land use survey. King County is nearing completion of their 2017 agricultural land use survey.  The purpose of the survey is to better understand the current use of agricultural lands in King County, with special focus on lands that are deemed farmable, but due to a variety reasons, are not currently being farmed.  The county and its partners will then work with owners of those “farmable but unfarmed” lands to identify barriers to returning the lands to commercial production and to help interested landowners overcome those barriers through the Working Farmland Partnership.  Richard will describe the land use survey and the Working Farmland Partnership and will bring draft land use maps for participants to review and edit.
