Chinook Bend Natural Area

A 59-acre Natural Area with rich habitat for many fish and wildlife species in its former pastureland, wetlands, and mature deciduous forest.  Activities include walking, fishing, and nature observation.

Artist Betsy Damon brought her passion for dynamic water systems and the environment to the creation of artwork for The Chinook Bend Natural Area. The site lies within the Snoqualmie River’s 100-year floodplain and is adjacent to the river on three sides. The natural area embodies new approaches to holistic water management through recycling reclaimed water, floodplain restoration and passive recreation. Wetland and floodplain enhancement projects have restored the site to a forested floodplain and wetland, and have improved wildlife habitat.
